Gearbox range has over 10,000 designs
and ratios

Claimed to be unmatched for their precision, durability and design variety, tehre are over 10,000 designs and ratios available in a standard gearbox range.

Tandler gearboxes are unmatched for their precision, durability and design variety With more than 10,000 designs and ratios available in Tandler's standard gearbox ranges alone, most high performance applications are ably served by 'specials', off-the-shelf

The drive combinations are almost limitless, providing mathematically exact transmissions for complex production processes where precision and durability are paramount.

The basic options within the three main gearbox ranges give an insight into the considerable application potential.

Tandler's Single-Stage Spiral Bevel Gearboxes - its core product range - have proven their versatility for over 50 years.

Every surface is machined for universal mounting capability and the power they pack is amongst the highest in the industry.

The many variations include flanged, switching, hollow shaft and auxiliary drive models.

To control, adjust and synchronise machine operations, Tandler's Speed Modulation Gearboxes offer a combination of spiral bevel, planetary and worm gear technology.

Variants include the inline bevel differential, single stage planetary and double-planetary gearboxes.

The superb accuracy and backlash as low as two arc minutes, inherent in Tandler's spiral bevel design, has led to the development of the third basic range, ServoFoxx.

This latest series has been introduced for mounting directly onto any metric- or imperial-sized servo motor.

The applications for Tandler's standard specials are wide-ranging but their common denominator is always accuracy and reliability.

The company's speed modulation gearboxes are used in the printing of lottery tickets for example, to ensure the registration is spot-on for automatic reading.

They are also specified for the accurate filling of biscuits and chocolates, again where accurate positioning is essential.

For applications that call for something very special, Tandler can of course design and produce one-off gearboxes.

One such application is in maximising energy production on a wind farm.

To ensure that in low and high wind conditions alike, the generator is operating optimally, the pitch of the turbine's rotor blades are continually adjusted.

The enormous propeller torque involved resulted in a highly specialised Tandler spiral bevel gearbox with a very high ratio being specified.

When a satellite is launched, every gram saved reduces costs.

For an application in this field Tandler used a special light weight aluminium housing and a high-tech graphite lubricant to accord with zero gravity and extreme temperature variations.

Normal seals were also replaced in favour of unique labyrinth seals to withstand the rigors of space. Request a free brochure from Tandler Precision ...
