How to tackle complexity of world-mide markets
Taylor helps leading pharmaceutical manufacturer tackle planning and scheduling complexities of supplying worldwide markets.
Software solves fixed batch size problems
Batch Allocator software is intended for use by manufacturers that must produce in fixed batch sizes and deliver packaged products in multiple configurations.
The company generates production plans based on these customer orders from its packaging industry-specific planning system and uses the Taylor Scheduler to develop detailed production schedules.
The manufacturing process includes two major steps, corrugating and trim and finishing.
Menasha uses the Taylor Scheduler to independently schedule these operations and synchronize them to achieve an efficient overall plant schedule.
Most of the production orders are scheduled automatically by the Taylor Scheduler, allowing the Menasha schedulers to focus on problem orders and develop effective long-term plans.
The Yukon facility has increased the synchronization of plant operations and improved on-time delivery, while avoiding the need to hire additional staff.
"Working together, Menasha and Taylor Manufacturing Systems have achieved significant benefits at Yukon and have demonstrated we can deploy these solutions quickly and easily," said Neil Taylor, President and CEO of Taylor Manufacturing Systems.
"They are a excellent example of how to deploy information systems effectively in the packaging industry." Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, USA, Taylor Manufacturing Systems provides Advanced Production Scheduling (APS) solutions for plant-level manufacturing execution management.
The Taylor Scheduler has been implemented in well over 100 sites worldwide and is the industry leader for pharmaceutical production scheduling.
