Gundrilling machine for medical components and tools are designed to highly accurate drill holes as small as 0.027in in surgical stainless steels and titanium.

With the sale of the 50th TBT gundrilling machine for medical components and tools, TBT Tiefbohrtechnik/Nagel Precision confirms its leadership in high-accuracy gundrilling.

The machines are designed to highly accurate drill holes as small as 0.027in in surgical stainless steels and titanium.

In order to maintain concentricity, the system counter rotates the workpieces, while the drill spindle can achieve variable speeds up to 24,000 rev/min.

The machines are offered in single and dual head versions with up to four spindles.

With these systems, drill depth of more than 200 x diameter can be achieved.

The digital process monitoring systems effectively safeguard even small diameter tools from breaking.

To ensure effective chip removal out of holes as small as 0.027in, the machines use a special high-pressure coolant system with pressures up to 3,000 lb/in2.

The TBT is has a world-wide manufacturing and sales presence and supplies both gundrilling tools and machines.

This system approach ensures a smooth implementation of even the toughest applications.
