Automation system smartens up mills operation
Automation system extends the scope of traditional control systems to include all automation functions in a single operations and engineering environment so that plants/mills can run smarter.
These deployments cover applications such as Metro Networking, Storage Area Networking and Carrier Managed Services for large enterprises, power utilities and banks.
The simplicity of installation and operation of the TS-Series platform were key decision factors for Exatel, who will continue to roll out the platform across metro applications within its Polish network.
"The Exatel project is an exciting development for FCA and Transmode in Poland," said Andrzej Szymowski, FCA's CEO and Owner.

Mastering legacy industrial devices over Ethernet
"Mastering your legacy industrial devices over Ethernet" and how to avoid prohibitive costs are discussed here by Joel Young, Vice President, Device Server Products at Digi International.
"In addition to securing the project with Exatel, FCA is providing a full range of services from installation and commissioning to aftercare maintenance services".
The Exatel network was formed by the combination of the infrastructure of Tel-Energo and Telbank, creating the second largest Telecommunications infrastructure in Poland.
The network covers over 15,000 route kilometres, accesses over 400 cities and communities and has interconnection points with all the major national and international operators and ISPs.
"As the second largest service provider in Poland, choosing the right technology is critical to Exatel," said Pawel Olech, Vice-president at the Management Board of Exatel SA.
"The Transmode TS-Series provides us with all the right functionality, at the right price and with unparalleled simplicity of use".
"The system is extremely robust and the Plug-and-Play functionality allows Exatel to quickly and simply roll out new services to our existing and new customers, strengthening our position in the competitive Polish telecommunications market".
The TS-Series deployment provides Exatel with a flexible, modular and scalable xWDM platform.
Initially supporting low cost CWDM wavelengths, the system has the scalability to extend to additional CWDM and DWDM wavelengths in-service.
Using patented Intelligent WDM protocol recognition and functionality such as SFP/XFP pluggable optics the TS-Series provides network operators and enterprises with a true plug and play experience, greatly reducing network and service turn up times and costs.
"The Exatel project is significant win for FCA and Transmode," said Bjorn Andersson, Transmode's Vice President Sales.
"Working together, we have provided Exatel with a very effective Technology and Services package, meeting their requirements and securing the project against stiff competition".
"We look forward to the long term relationship with Exatel and continuing to provide them with the most competitive and effective metro networking solution".
