TrimeriX has launched a functional test service that gives clients access to the latest test equipment and skilled engineers to meet the demand for outsourced RF testing services.

TrimeriX responded to the growing demand for outsourced RF testing services by launching a functional test service, giving clients access to state of the art test equipment and highly skilled engineers With the widespread adoption of wireless based modules within products there is a growing need for cost effective testing

RF test and measurement equipment requires significant capital investment, whilst reliable results require skilled operators.

"Research has shown that outsourcing this small but crucial area can save a company up to 35% of test and rework costs" says Nigel Gaylard.

Traditionally companies have either invested in internal test facilities or hired equipment as needed.

Where internal investment is made it is only cost effective if utilisation is high.

Hiring equipment is attractive as the capital outlay is low, however a minimum contract period and unfamiliar equipment can make this an uneconomical option.

The BOM cost of wireless equipment has dropped dramatically, shifting the emphasis for cost savings from the materials to the labour based elements.

"TrimeriX's significant investment in high-end RF test equipment, coupled with experienced engineers enables us to ensure that rapid, reliable test results are achieved in the most cost effective manner" says Nigel Gaylard.

Where re-work is required TrimeriX is able to rework to IPC-610 and IPC-7721 standards.
