A powerful, integrated shop-floor data collection and analysis tool that enables electronics manufacturers to improve yields and reduce defects in real time.

Tecnomatix Technologies, the leading provider of Manufacturing Process Management (MPM) software solutions, has announced that a new, enhanced version of its eMPower eM-Quality solution for electronics manufacturers has been introduced by the company's Tecnomatix Unicam subsidiary eM-Quality is a powerful, integrated shop-floor data collection and analysis tool that enables electronics manufacturers to improve yields and reduce defects in real time

With the enhanced eM-Quality 2.2, Tecnomatix adds to the capabilities of its eMPower Execution Systems solution set by providing users with a fault-tolerant user interface management system, enhanced engineering change order functionality and in-process route editing capability.

The added functionality will better enable electronics OEMs and contract manufacturers to collect and report process defect data in real time.

The eM-Quality solution now provides users with a new method for collecting circuit board assembly and box-build failure data, replacing traditional error collection methods that relied on written notes or text keyboard entry.

Tecnomatix eMPower Execution Systems provide an end-to-end, Web-based solution for real-time collecting, sharing, analyzing and managing the performance of assembly operations across the extended enterprise.

This suite of applications provides drill-down capabilities with real-time access to shop floor data for proactive, data-driven visibility and knowledge management.

eMPower Execution Systems help manufacturers reach higher levels of quality by enforcing processes and correcting problems early in the manufacturing process.

"Moving to eMPower eM-Quality was an obvious choice for us," said Sanjay Rajan, senior manager of quality engineering at Harris Corporation, an international communications equipment company that provides product, system, and service solutions for commercial and government customers.

"As we broaden and expand our extended data collection and quality assurance programs, we expect eM-Quality to play a significant role in the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes." "This newest version of eM-Quality promises to enable even greater usage of our advanced eMPower Execution System solutions for electronics Manufacturing Process Management," said Israel Levy, chief executive officer of Tecnomatix Unicam, "eM-Quality users report improved product and process quality, reduced manufacturing variations and engineering changes, enhanced communication of quality information throughout their extended planning, design, and manufacturing operations.

This is a key component of our commitment to give our customers the critical solutions they need for success in their highly demanding and competitive markets." Tecnomatix Unicam is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tecnomatix Technologies, Ltd.
