Tecnomatix Technologies has won an order to supply its eMPowerT for Electronics solutions to Groupe NCF, a French contract manufacturing services specialist The software is being implemented at several major subsidiary sites operated by Ardelec Technologies, Atelec Technologies, Emelec Technologies and In'Tech Technologies

The Groupe NCF companies will be using eMPower solutions for printed circuit board (PCB) assembly and test to provide a centralised, collaborative environment for New Product Introductions (NPI) and Transfer of Process Introductions (TPI).

Key benefits will be improved visibility of process data; the ability to make quick and easy changes to processes, reduced NPI lead-times; and the standardisation of processes across the enterprise.

Groupe NCF is implementing Tecnomatix' award-winning eM-Assembly Expert product along with eM-Test Expert and eM-Document Expert.

The application of these eMPower solutions will help increase Groupe NCF's productivity, avoiding bottlenecks in design, assembly machine programming, and test development.

The aim is to achieve better customer satisfaction by accelerating process and transfer documentation management; and also reducing set-up times.

Commenting on the new order Thierry Schmitt, general manager of Groupe NCF described eMPower as being central to the group's manufacturing operations saying: "The software will help us to standardise operations at our Ardelec and Emelec locations by introducing a centralised system that allows us to adapt quickly and easily to changes from our customers." "Contract manufacturers in Western Europe are facing tough competition from Eastern Europe and China," said Israel Levy, chief executive officer of Tecnomatix Unicam.

"Groupe NCF is still successful, and wishes to remain a preferred sub-contractor to its many partners.

One important way to keep its customers happy is to effectively control all its manufacturing, test and integration processes in order to deliver quality products on-time and at competitive prices.

We expect that eMPower solutions for MPM will play an important part in ensuring that Groupe NCF stays ahead in the challenging European electronics manufacturing marketplace."
