New Integration Capability In ICEM Surf 4.4

A Theorem Solutions product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 17, 2004

A new closely coupled data exchange capability from Theorem Solutions provides interactive transfer of associativity between ICEM Surf 4.4 and CATIA V5.

Incorporation of Theorem's technology within ICEM Surf builds on the application's ability to closely interface with other major CAD systems.

This has been achieved to date through geometric data exchange, using industry-standard neutral interfaces such as IGES, VDA, STL and SET; or by Theorem-supplied direct interfaces for CATIA V4 and V5, Unigraphics/NX and CADDS 5.

Through this latest development, users can now transfer surface data seamlessly from CATIA V5 and back again, without leaving their ICEM Surf application session.

"ICEM Surf enables users to produce world-class designs, notably through the creation and development of complex Class A surfaces," says Theorem's general manager, Keith Jeacock.

"Working interactively not only simplifies the application's use, but also makes a positive impact on productivity.

As a result, we will soon be adding this facility to other translators in our CADverter range.

"By providing bi-directional associativity with other systems, this new data exchange capability enhances workflow throughout the different phases of the product development process.

It improves the way design changes can be considered and applied in downstream processes, which in turn will lead to significantly reduced design cycle times.
