Theorem Solution's Catia V5 to ProductView CADverter is helping Mitsubishi Motor Corporation solve incompatibility problems between data formats.

Theorem Solution's Catia V5 to ProductView CADverter is helping Mitsubishi Motor Corporation solve incompatibility problems between data formats The company uses a Catia design system from Dassault Systems to provide visualisation files for its PTC image viewing system

The wide range of engineering solutions with different formats continues to present the international design and manufacturing community with challenges, both within an enterprise and across supply chains.

Having investigated several possible solutions, Mitsubishi made an initial investment in Theorem's Catia V5 to ProductView CADverter to meet its immediate requirements.

The CADverter rapidly and accurately publishes 3D part geometry, assemblies and drawings, together with attribute information, to the compact formats used by ProductView.

If, in the future, Mitsubishi needs to provide data from a design department to a visualisation application under the control of a PDM system, the Catia V5 to ProductView CADverter can be upgraded to a Windchill compatible version that has already proved effective for other large OEMs.

"This has been a very sound decision by Mitsubishi," explains Theorem's general manager Keith Jeacock.

"They get an immediate solution for the present circumstances and have a proven upgrade path should Windchill be applied to the management of their visualisation data in the future".
