Steel processing firm updates control system
Transicon has updated the control system on one of the press lines at UK steel processing giant Steel and Alloy resulting in increased safety, improved throughput and reduced costs.
"By winning major original equipment and refurbishment contracts in the utilities, manufacturing, process engineering and automation industries, we have consistently increased sales and profitability over the past four years," said Transicon's managing director, Paul Blake.
"More recently, we have expanded our installation, support and consultancy services and diversified our customer base by securing several important orders in the automotive, food handling and precision engineering sectors.
As a result, we have simply outgrown our previous site." The new building provides more than 11,000ft2 of space.
This will allow further expansion of Transicon's engineering services department, as well as increased stock holding of spares ensuring the company maintains the highest levels of support to its customers.
The extra space permits the assembly and prove-out of larger turnkey systems prior to shipment, installation and commissioning.
"It also provides room for several new developments that we have in the pipeline, which will further strengthen our engineering team," said Blake.
"With demand in the automation sector continuing to show strong growth, I am confident that our new UK headquarters will be an important foundation on which to build future sales across our full range of control system and automation solutions".
