High speed spindle mills at 90,000
rev/min
High speed spindle attachment allows milling machine users to cut materials like graphite and hardened materials at speeds of up to 90,000 rev/min, reducing machining times.
When working with tools under 10mm diameter, the Lang Moto Speed makes it possible to achieve spindle speeds up to 90,000 rev/min Thame Workholding distributes the product in the UK and Ireland

Vacuum mats hold machined work pieces fast
Two vacuum workholding fixtures consist of a disposable rubber mat with individual suckers that hold the component flat, while machining can penetrate it without reducing clamping efficiency.
Clamping performance with small cross section
When used with Makro Grip vices, the Lang Grip-Fix system provides a method of achieving optimum clamping performance on the smallest cross section of material.
Maurice Day, sales director, said: "Cutting graphite and hardened materials at high speed cuts machining times and produces the best finish.
The Moto Speed brings this within the capability of virtually any milling machine".
* Moto Speed unit - the spindle body of the Moto Speed unit includes a 2KW high frequency motor enclosed in a hardened steel casing, and is fitted with a high precision collet for tools between 1 and 10mm diameter.
Positive air pressure inside the spindle increases the life of the three-phase hybrid bearings and stops dirt ingress.
Power, sealing air, and coolant are supplied to the Moto Speed spindle through Lang's patented interface.
This fits to the side of the machine and has a contact free sensor to monitor the rotational speed.
* Load from automatic tool changer - for easy access and collision avoidance the interface unit can be automatically swung out of the way when not in use, using M codes from the machine control.
This makes it possible to load the Moto Speed from the tool changer and continue the cutting process with other tools without any additional resetting or operator intervention.
The Moto Speed is available with a variety of different shanks including BT40, BT50, HSK 63, HSK50, SK50 and SK40, making it compatible with most machine tools.
It also includes an internal coolant supply with twin adjustable nozzles.
The control unit for the Moto Speed shows the rotation speed, includes spindle and cutter storage, and has 9m of cable for easy access to the machine tool.
Installing the unit enables machinists to accelerate 1600 rev/min into 60,000 rev/min in the space of 3s while maintaining the machine's available torque, bringing them the benefits of high speed milling without the cost of a new machining centre.
