Today's automobile is already a vast network of interconnected silicon chips, controlling everything from airbags to engines operations. Alfautomazione has systems to test them.
Telegan is a division of gas detection specialist Crowcon Detection Instruments .
"We chose the Sprint Vs because of their simplicity, ease of use and functionality," said Simon Miller, Support Manager of the HSO Supplier Team at British Gas.
"They will see a lot of use on a daily basis, so really need to be up to the task.
Their added ability to assist with compliance to BS7967** also adds to the appeal of the units." The instruments are pre-programmed with pass/fail criteria or tests may be manually passed by the engineer.
Sprint V3, which was specially configured for British Gas requirements, features as standard a flue gas analyser, a differential thermometer, a differential manometer (with bespoke combined let-by and tightness test), carbon monoxide room safety monitor and a gas escape detector with gooseneck probe and ultra-bright LED searchlight - all in one small handheld unit.
The simple, intuitive menu structure has an automatic backlit display and allows easy selection of extended sets of pressure units, fuel options, efficiency settings and other preferences.
An important feature of the Sprint V range is 'Smart Purge' technology, which saves battery, pump and filter life, enables intelligent purging for switch-on and switch-off, and allows the purging of gas while other tests are being carried out.
Standard Sprint V reports can be instantly printed, logged and recalled on-screen as well as output to Sprint PC software via USB.
British Gas selected Bluetooth technology for their data output requirements and a 'hold readings' function on screen.
Simon added, "Crowcon's six year service package gives British Gas full manufacturers' back-up and support and the ability to upgrade instruments if improvements are made, which will help us meet a changing market." David Riddle, Business Development Manager at Telegan, said, "We are delighted to have been selected for this ongoing contract with British Gas.
Our focus has always been on making life easier for heating engineers, who are faced with an ever-increasing burden of regulation and legislation.".
