Thyssen Fuegetechnik, a subsidiary of Thyssen Krupp Stahl, has gained certification for ISO/TS 16949 and ISO9001/2000 for the company's four German operations.
The appointment of Juergen Zirnstein, previously Chief Financial Officer, and David Walsh, previously Vice President of Operations and Technical Services, is part of a realignment of the North American business activities.
Commenting on the management changes, Dr Jost Massenberg, member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Stahl, said: "ThyssenKrupp Stahl views its subsidiary as a vital demonstration of its long-standing commitment to the North American automotive industry and as a strategic investment necessary to properly execute a cost-efficient and sophisticated supply chain." He continued that ThyssenKrupp Steel North America had recently reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the North American automotive industry by signing multi-year agreements with its primary customer base, including DaimlerChrysler and ThyssenKrupp Budd.
