H Tinsley's 5762N high resistance fault locator is particularly suited to pinpointing buried cable faults in street and general outside lighting in municipal areas, sport complexes and similar locations It can also be used in the factory to find faults in stock cable
The portable instrument, which has integral rechargeable batteries and charger, will find the position of a single shorting fault between two conductors, or between one conductor and the cable sheath or ground.
A manually adjusted potentiometer and well-proven bridge technology is used to pinpoint faults, from a dead short to 200MegOhms, as a percentage of the cable length.
This means that a fault can be traced to within just a few inches in a cable run of several hundred feet The instrument, which can also be mains operated, is housed in a tough, highly visible moulded case that is rated to IP67 when closed.
