Trident Demonstrate Manufacturing Capability
The capabilities of Trident's design and manufacturing facility will be further demonstrated at this year's In-Store Show at Earls Court from 13th-15th June 2006.
Trident has partnered with Patient Power licence holder Premier Telesolutions .
to deliver a custom solution specifically for hospitals.
The unit manufactured by Trident features a 15" flat-panel touchscreen, smart card reader and telephone handset.
To suit the hospital environment, the casing is designed for easy cleaning and silent operation.
Audio is provided through headphones to minimise disruption to other patients.
The fanless design relies on a bespoke heatsink for cooling to further reduce noise emission from the unit.
Multimedia and telecoms services are accessed and paid for using smartcards that can be purchased at the hospital and a card reader is integrated into the terminal.
External peripherals can be connected via Bluetooth, WIFI or one of the two USB ports.
Trident's extensive engineering knowledge and project management competence enabled it to supply a fully tailored hardware solution, leading to its selection as a partner on this project.
The installation of Patient Power systems makes it easier for patients to remain in contact with the outside world and helps alleviate boredom in hospital wards.
Hospital staff no longer need to relay incoming telephone messages to patients or run a communal TV service, leaving them free to concentrate on clinical duties.
By applying its expertise to an exacting environment, Trident has assisted Premier Telesolutions in bringing tangible benefits to both nurses and patients.
