Cables increase robotic MIG welding uptime

A Tregaskiss Welding Products product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 2, 2008

For through-arm robotic welding, Tregaskiss' LSR Unicables including a rotating power connection that relieves stress caused by routine torsion and a protective conduit.

Tregaskiss has introduced its Tough Gun ThruArm Series with patent-pending Low-Stress Robotic (LSR) Unicable technology for robotic MIG welding.

The Tough Gun ThruArm Series with LSR Unicables minimise downtime and improve welding performance on thru-arm (through-arm) robotic welding systems.

The series is available as a complete package (from the power pin to the contact tip) for clutch- and solid-mount robotic systems.

These include FANUC, OTC Daihen, ABB and Motoman.

The LSR Unicables are also available separately for replacement should they become worn, and they can be installed on thru-arm robots featuring other select brands of air-cooled robotic guns.

To prevent production downtime, Tregaskiss' LSR Unicables have a rotating power connection that relieves stress caused by routine torsion.

There is also a protective conduit to shield the cable components from harsh welding environments.

Tregaskiss guarantees the LSR unicables with a two year limited warranty.

At 100% duty cycle, the ThruArm Series and LSR Unicables provide 500A air-cooled capacity with CO2 and 350A with mixed gases (based on NEMA standards).
