"With organisations under increased scrutiny from government and industry regulators, there is pressure on managers, all the way up to the board-level, to seek a robust, cost-effective solution to automate Lotus Notes application security management".
"Teamstudio Policy Manager boosts the security of an organisation's software assets enabling it to meet compliance standards while benefiting from the collaborative nature of a Lotus Notes/Domino infrastructure".
The four new enhancements to Policy Manager include:.
* New and Improved Reports - Three new reports are now available in Policy Manager: Effective Access report, Server Access report, and Username Conflicts report.
These new reports can support Sarbanes Oxley compliance by allowing auditors to determine who has access to specific applications.
The first two reports, Effective Access and Server Access reports allow users to view all of the usernames listed in each Notes group.
Even if groups are nested within groups, all of the usernames will be displayed in one simple report.
Prior to this feature a user had to find each group that had access to an application and then navigate to the Domino Directory to look up the user names in each group.
The third report, Username Conflicts report, allows speedy resolution of Username conflicts.
In Notes, e-mail may not function correctly if multiple users have the same short name or full name.
The Username Conflicts report will identify all person documents that contain the same short name, full name or internet address and the problem can be readily corrected.
* Better organisation of views - In Policy Manager the Reports and Views folders are now individually identified in the Policy Manager tree hierarchy on the left side of the user interface, making it easier to find information.
* ACL Lockdown - In certain cases it is required to assign an individual, "Manager" level access to a database and at the same time limit the "Manager" role such that the Access Control List (ACL) cannot be changed by that individual.
The new release of Policy Manager allows improved control of the "Manager" role by preventing changes made via the ACL dialog.
* Better Stored ACL support: Users can now easily apply multiple "Stored ACL's" to one database.
This simplifies management and control of Notes databases.
