eBroadcast Event On LIMS Integration
Sponsored

Thermo Electron has announced its active participation in and sponsorship of a major live streaming audio and video event entitled "Integrating LIMS Across the Enterprise".

A major live streaming audio and video event entitled "Integrating LIMS Across the Enterprise" is to take place October 22, 2003 The program for this interactive event has been devised for scientists, researchers and other laboratory professionals to learn more about using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) to integrate processes, equipment and software systems for the benefit of the whole organization

Best known for its market leading LIMS products (SampleManager and Nautilus), chromatography data system (Atlas) and data archival and knowledge management solution (eRecordManager), Thermo's informatics business was formerly known as Thermo LabSystems and Thermo Galactic.

The event will benefit from a panel of experts that will discuss the issues and opportunities involved in effective integration and automation and propose real world approaches and solutions for deliberation.

The three panelists will be Kevin Smith, General Manager - Informatics North America, Thermo Electron; Stu Miller, Director of LIMS and Lab Automation Solutions, Taratec Development Corp.; and David Harris, Senior Systems Analyst, Manufacturing Systems Deployment Group, Dow Corning.

The program host will be Suzanne Tracy, Editor in Chief, Scientific Computing and Instrumentation magazine.

Panelist Kevin Smith commented: "Thermo is delighted to have been invited as the lab informatics vendor of choice to help drive the program for this significant webcast.

We look forward to examining the potential for achieving total connectivity, together with the opportunities for increased efficiency and productivity, improved quality control, faster time to market, and higher and earlier returns on investment.

This educational format is proving extremely popular, eliminating the costs and inconvenience of travel while retaining the vital interaction.

It certainly looks set to be a very interesting session." With an installed base of over 1,100 systems and around 45,000 daily users worldwide, Thermo's SampleManager is one of the most established and industrially robust LIMS on the market.

It is designed to support laboratory operations and integrate those operations into the corporate enterprise.

Industries served include manufacturing, chemicals and process, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, water, and environmental.

Nautilus is Thermo's latest LIMS product, focused on improving laboratory productivity and reducing the total cost of ownership of LIMS to customers.

With radically reduced implementation times and patent-pending Workflow technology minimizing the need for customization, Nautilus is delivering a return on investment to many customers in fields such as biotechnology, pharmaceutical R and D, and forensics.

Nautilus offers advanced XML (eXtensible Markup Language) capabilities to offer powerful integration advantages.

Attendees interested in viewing and participating in this free event, part of a series of webcasts being presented by Scientific Computing and Instrumentation magazine, should visit www.scimag.com/integratinglims.

The event will take place at 2-3pmEST/11-12 noon PST on Wednesday October 22. Request a free brochure from Thermo Fisher Scientific Informatics ...
