Robot picks and places at circular conveyors
Operating some 1.4 times faster than before, a SCARA robot offers an arc conveyor synchronisation facility, so is able to complete pick and place functions on circular and straight conveyors.
Simulate Toshiba robot cells in 3D
Users of TM Robotics' Toshiba Machine robots can generate off-line simulations using 3D-simulation software developed by BYG Systems of Nottingham.
Composite speeds are 5.15m/sec and 5.29m/sec, meeting the demanding requirements of the food industry.
In both cases, payload can be up to 10Kg and repeatability is +/-0.02mm.
Both robots use the Toshiba Machine TS2000 controller, which features an in-built PLC that makes the robot cell a centre for complete system control.
"The industrial robot represents one of the best ways for food processors and packaging companies to improve productivity," said Alan Wanstall of AMT.
"But in order to do this, it is vital that end-users select the right robot, with sufficient speed and payload." "Many of the applications I'm invited to work on demand cycle times of less than a second, meaning the speed of the robot is vital" continued Wanstall.
"The alternative is wasted product which comes whizzing down the production line and lands in a pile because the robot can't keep up." "A robot, such as the TH-250 or TH-350, can cope admirably with the constantly changing demands of a food production line," said Malcolm Burgess, managing director of Union Food Machinery.
"Indeed a robot's only limitation is the skill and knowledge of the human programming the machine." About TM Robotics - TM Robotics is Toshiba Machine's European partner for the supply of industrial SCARA and Cartesian Robots.
About Union Food Machinery - Union Food Machinery is a private company established in 1986 to identify and satisfy automation requirements for Food manufacturing companies.
