Robots pack foodstuffs reliably,
unmanned
Robotic pack line is a fully functional robotic production and packing line designed to demonstrate how foodstuffs may be rapidly processed and packed hygienically and reliably.
TM Robotics, the company with European responsibility for Toshiba Machine's Industrial Robots, is contributing the machines to complete key robotic handling sequences for the Robotic Pack Line at this year's Hanover Messe, Hannover, Germany Two of the company's versatile Model TH650 SCARA robots take sealed plastics boxes of sausages and place them onto preformed cardboard boxes that are then automatically sealed

Robot picks and places at circular conveyors
Operating some 1.4 times faster than before, a SCARA robot offers an arc conveyor synchronisation facility, so is able to complete pick and place functions on circular and straight conveyors.
Simulate Toshiba robot cells in 3D
Users of TM Robotics' Toshiba Machine robots can generate off-line simulations using 3D-simulation software developed by BYG Systems of Nottingham.
Situated within the Robotics World section in Hall 17 at Hanover, the Robotic Pack Line is a fully functional robotic production and packing line designed to demonstrate how foodstuffs may be rapidly processed and packed hygienically and reliably without human contact.
It includes separate metering, packing, sealing and marking systems, coordinated sequentially and culminating in a ready-packed pallet secured for further transport.
Designed to achieve fast cycle times and accurate placements, the TH650 is a high precision 5-axis SCARA robot that will reduce assembly and packing time of small components within high-speed production environments.
Maximum arm length is 650mm (300 + 350mm) and it can carry payloads of up to 10kg, placing them with a repeatable accuracy of +/-0.15mm.
The TH650's user-friendly TS2100 controller allows simultaneous five-axis control, using a built-in PLC.
It has a storage capacity of 6400 points and 12800 steps across up to 256 programs, with up to 70 I/O.
It uses the proprietary Toshiba Machine SCOL programming language (similar to BASIC) and this can be used across the complete Toshiba SCARA and Cartesian robot range. Request a free brochure from TM Robotics (Europe) ...
