Four patents granted for fixed headstock DECO
Following the phenomenal success of the DECO concept on sliding head and multispindle products, Tornos engineers wanted to develop a DECO incorporating fixed headstock technology.
This success is part of a 'Year of Innovation' that has seen Tornos launch the Deco 8sp and MultiDeco 32/6c turning centres in April and a further three machines at EMO.
The exhibition was used as the platform to launch the MultiDeco 20/6be, MultiDeco 20/8d and the Deco 20s machines.
The launch of two new multi spindle machines and a new single spindle machine comprise of three major innovations.
This was accompanied by the TB-Deco 2006; a new version of the highly successful Tornos programming software. The strenuous efforts of Tornos to develop new machines to meet the changing needs of the market had evidently paid off with the crowds of visitors at the stand.
BTMA member WML Engineering was one of the 26 companies to place an order.
It purchased the World's first Deco 20s machine.
The Deco 20s is the second machine to be launched in the s-line range and is geared towards simplicity coupled with strong mechanical elements to guarantee high precision.
With 6 linear axes, the machine has been designed to produce reasonably complex parts up to 25.4mm diameter with an excellent price-to-potential ratio.
