Thermo Fisher Scientific has enhanced its ARL 4460 optical emission spectrometry (OES) metals analyzer to offer unmatched performance, accuracy, stability, reliability and speed of analysis.
Software aids metals analysis automation
Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced Thermo Scientific ARL SMS version 6 software features a common software platform covering the instrument and automation.
It is designed to provide customers with quantitative as well as qualitative analysis for operation in challenging environments such as foundries or for industrial quality control in recycling plants, metals handlers, processors or transformers where flexibility is required.
The ARL QUANTODESK provides very fast multi-matrix analysis for most common metals applications, including cast iron, nodular cast iron, aluminium alloys, brass and bronze.
It replaces Thermo's ARL ASSURE system with improved features, including a more compact size, the addition of field calibration extensions at any time without the need for any hardware changes and improved performance.
It also benefits from the ARL ASSURE's reputation for quality and reliability gained since its launch four years ago, with core features including accuracy, up-time, stability, flexibility, low maintenance costs and ease of operation.
The instrument has been completely upgraded to offer customers a more cost effective solution, improved analytical performance and flexibility.
It reduces operating costs further without compromising on its core characteristics:.
The size of the instrument has been reduced (40 x 45 x 78 cm) with a weight of 45 kg which makes it more easily transportable.
The software runs on WindowsR XP and supports the same calculation model and calibration package as high-end instruments.
Improved sensitivity, reproducibility and accuracy are achieved as a result.
A quick start system reduces argon consumption leading to minimal operating costs.
The embedded computer is replaced by a standard computer enabling seamless integration into the customer environment and comprises USB port, network card and CD-writer.
The casing has been strengthened to suit analysis in harsh environments.
