Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the release of the latest and most advanced version of its high speed single quadrupole LC/MS detection system, the Thermo Scientific MSQ Plus The MSQ Plus has been enhanced to feature fully automated system security, secure data integrity, built-in audit trails and electronic signatures and signoffs, enabling 21 CFR Part 11 compliance

Additionally, the MSQ Plus can be seamlessly integrated with the new Thermo Scientific High Speed LC system, Accela.

This configuration enables both conventional, as well as high speed LC separations with an MS detector, providing a unique, complete and efficient analytical solution for drug development and discovery, QA/QC, academic, food and beverage, government and research laboratories.

The new MSQ Plus utilises the Thermo Scientific Xcalibur software platform for optimum security of data.

Xcalibur works in conjunction with the Microsoft Windows XP to set and control permissions for access, provide electronic signatures, signoffs of results.

Date and time-stamped audit trails ensure that all data and changes to the instrument are methodically stored in the secure environment.

The MSQ Plus provides unsurpassed performance and ruggedness while being extremely easy-to-use.

Additionally, this highly sensitive instrument features the world's most compact design and with its' ultra fast data collection scan rates, it is ideal for high speed chromatography.

"The Thermo Scientific MSQ Plus provides extremely fast scan rates of up to 12,000 amu per second," says Ray Chen, product manager for the MSQ Plus at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

"This ensures ample data sampling rates of components from fast LC or U-HPLC systems to sensitively collect, characterize, and quantitate these data.".
