The welding process can now be controlled in a new way, conveniently and yet still safely - in the place which is best for the user, for example next to the welded component.
The welding process can now be controlled in a new way, conveniently and yet still safely - in the place which is best for the user, e.g next to the welded component What makes this possible is the intuitive new Remote Control Unit RCU 5000i with full text display and simple, logical user guidance

TIG welding of motorcycle frame parts automated
Automatic pulsed-TIG welding provides relatively high, but accurately controlled heat input and allows gaps to be bridged effectively when welding 25 CrMo4 steel motorcycle frames, said TPS-Fronius.
Cold metal transfer pulsed arc welds CrNi steels
Successful tests have been carried out using cold metal transfer/pulsed arc welding on butt, overlapped, fillet, corner and flanged welds in 0.5-3.0mm thick CrNi steel and aluminum alloys.
With this innovative, remote control unit, Fronius is opening up new horizons in the world of digital welding technology.
Usability tests provided the innovative solution.
In other words, a close dialogue between developers and welding engineers took place during product development.
The RCU 5000i only shows the user those stages and options, required for each working step.
For that purpose, there are 180 programmed Synergic characteristics to choose from.
The user can also program a further 50 synergic lines and 200 jobs.
The logical working method of the welding engineer is systematically integrated: he obtains the best possible operating points, e.g by testing and varying individual working parameters.
Non-contact transponder keys provide new ways of controlling levels of organisation and responsibility within the business.
These keys can be used for defining various access levels and rights for skilled and non-skilled users.
It is therefore possible for one specified user group to only recall existing programs and data, a second can adjust programs and parameters and a third can set up all the parameters for the welding processes.
Images on the display quickly lead the user to the desired parameter.
The user can either select or modify them via a rotating knob on the side.
A standard integrated Smart Media Card simplifies the saving, storing, documentation and exchange of data.
For quality assurance, weld data is monitored with the Q-Master function and a Windows-compatible USB connection is provided for transfer of data with PC's and notebooks.
Developed by welders for welders, the RCU 5000i operates their equipment in an innovative, convenient and efficient way.
