Production control software has 'make to
stock'

Described by a user as the ideal solution to the production control needs of SMEs, a high performance software program meets the needs and expectations of the workforce.

Over the last twelve months, the Trakking team have been working closely with the Preston based Attwater Group to develop and enhance the Trakking production control software (PCS) A specialist in the production of high performance engineering industrial laminates and composites, Attwater Group had major issues with their previous system which seemed to require almost unlimited resources to make it work for them

Strategically they needed a more user friendly and practical PCS system to enable them to concentrate on their core business of manufacturing.

When they reviewed Trakking PCS, it was very evident that the system offered a logical structure and, coupled with its ease of use, it promised to be ideal for their needs - except that it did not have a Make to Stock element.

The Trakking team, having considered adding such a module for some time, formed a close working relationship with the Attwater Group to convert this expectation into a reality.

Both companies firmly believed that the outcome of working together would be a comprehensive PCS solution for a broad range of manufacturing SMEs.

As a result of the collaboration, Trakking PCS has evolved into a high performance software program that meets the needs and expectations of the workforce at the Attwater manufacturing unit.

Changing business processes is sometimes fundamental for the continued growth and performance of the business and managing changes is often difficult.

However, changing to Trakking PCS was readily embraced by most staff at Attwater's, both on the shop floor and in its offices.

New members of the sales staff have commented that 'it is the simplest system software' they have ever used.

With Quality System requirements in mind, the logicality and traceability within Trakking PCS has been invaluable.

The Attwater Group's Quality Manager really benefits from the fact that batch traceability is at his fingertips and he doesn't have to trawl through a paper chase.

"If the part has been produced within Trakking PCS traceability is faultless and complete." The financial director sees the integration of Trakking PCS with Sage Line 50 as representing a good, cost effective package.

Against the complex accountancy package used previously 'it is like a breath of fresh air' being able to export from Trakking PCS to this simpler and more compact system.

Attwater Group's engineering manager, instrumental in the development of the new version of Trakking PCS, suggests it is the ideal solution to the production control needs of SMEs.

'It now does what it says on the box' is the best way to describe the product, "And it does it simply.
