An economical blind threaded fastener that can be used in thin, soft, or brittle materials is designed to undergo controlled deformation, forming arms which grip the inside of the surface.

The JACKNUT threaded insert is an economical blind fastener for use even in thin, soft, or brittle materials available from leading fastener specialists Torque Control of Cheltenham When tightened the JACKNUT body is designed to undergo controlled deformation, forming arms which grip the inside of the mounting surface yet retain thread alignment This provides a permanent, reusable thread

Produced in steel, with a range of both unified and metric threads, it is particularly useful on assembly line operations for which pneumatic and hand tools are obtainable.

A special corrosion resistant finish is available with extended life of up to three times that of the standard zinc chromate.

The insert is designed so that it will not deform thin material and hence is finding increasing use throughout the plastics industries.

Further the fastener accommodates wide material thicknesses and is not hole-size sensitive, fastening securely despite burrs or uneven substrates.
