Compact 2D laser profiler needs no
pallet changer

Integrated loading and unloading unit manages material handling on a compact 2D laser cutting and profiling system so that a traditional pallet changer is unnecessary.

"Space-saving integrated automation combined with a diffusion-cooled laser makes the Trumatic L 2510 a highly efficient production cell for thin-sheet processing," says Hans-Jochen Beilke, Head of Sales and Marketing at Trumpf, in describing the latest 2D laser cutting system that joins high-speed laser cutting with a compact automation The integrated loading and unloading unit manages material handling so that a traditional pallet changer is unnecessary

All of the systems components, including the new TCF 1 laser resonator, were designed with affordability in mind for automated laser production.

The Trumatic L 2510 is a compact medium format machine that enables the user to react flexibly to the most varied processing requirements.

It is especially well-suited for thin-sheet processing of up to 12mm construction steel, 6mm of tensile steel and 4mm of aluminum.

Because the integrated automation reduces manual operations, the user can do other tasks or work on another machine.

Even fully automated shifts are possible.

Double sheet detection ensures that the process runs smoothly during automated mode.

The flat bed laser cutting machine operates according to the principle of flying optics, in which the laser beam is maneuvered over the work area.

This ensures that, regardless of plate weight, processing speeds and precision are maximized.

* The positioning unit moves laser and sheet metal - the linear moving positioning unit with integrated cutting head manages the entire material handling process.

It docks on the left side of the machine at a side arm with suction plates.

After grabbing a sheet the arm is maneuvered into the working area by the positioning unit.

A double sheet detector ensures process reliability.

The side arm deposits the sheet on the support table, and then the positioning unit returns the side arm to the starting point.

Then cutting begins.

After the sheet is processed, the positioning unit docks on the right side at a rake, which removes the skeleton with the finished parts.

When the skeleton is grasped, the positioning unit docks at the left side arm at the same time as it is loading a new sheet while unloading the skeleton.

* Compact laser with high power - not only is the machine design of the Trumatic L 2510 completely new but the TCF 1, a 2kW-CO2 laser is as well.

It combines the proven high-frequency technology of the TLF laser series with diffusion-cooling for the first time.

This innovative resonator concept with its extremely rigid and compact design provides exceptional beam quality, which enables high processing speeds.

The Trumatic L 2510 comes standard with Trumpfs advanced laser cutting features such as AutoLas Plus for controlling the focus position, Advanced Process Control (APC), piercing with SprintLas, as well as HI LAS high-pressure cutting for oxide-free and burr-free edges.

The control for Trumatic L 2510 is based on a Siemens Sinumerik 840D.

The machine can be easily networked using a Windows platform.

It can be serviced remotely and spare parts can be ordered from the integrated e-shop.

ToPs 100 ? the technology-oriented programming system from Trumpf for 2D laser processing ? is used for programming the Trumatic L 2510. Request a free brochure from Trumpf ...
