AC develops and sells process power supplies for vacuum plasma applications under the brand "Advanced Converters".
The new subsidiary will operate under the name Huttinger Electronic and will remain in the same location.
All 156 current employees will retain their positions.
Through its Huttinger subsidiary, the Trumpf Group is a major supplier of components critical to the manufacture of high technology products such as semiconductors, flat panel displays, DVDs and solar cells.
The Company's products deliver the energy required for depositing thin film coatings on surfaces such as architectural glass and premium industrial components.
Advanced Converters' power supplies for DC plasma processes are also used for vacuum deposition and removal of materials and are, thus, complimentary to the Company's existing product lines.
Trumpf has now expanded and complemented its offering in this fast-growing market.
For the Trumpf Group, the acquisition of AC, which was founded in 2001, represents an important strategic addition to its product range.
"With Advanced Converters, we are strengthening our DC generator business field and expanding our leading position in plasma excitation.
At the same time we are setting the stage for even faster growth in the future," says Huttinger Managing Director Dr Dieter Pauschinger.
Trumpf expects to rapidly increase sales of the new subsidiary by leveraging it's existing International sales, service and distribution network.
Annual sales are currently under 10 million Euros. Request free introductory details about products from Trumpf ...
