"Access to the research, development and technical resources of HEP will allow us to develop the Transtar product range and offer a responsive service to our clients," explained marketing manager Gareth Bruce.
The company manufactures the flexible 'Transtar K series' electronic start ballast range and have a reputation for high quality and service.
Transtar will continue to develop its range of fluorescent and HID ballasts, many of which carry the BSI Kitemark.
In addition to its branded own commercial and industrial lines, the company also works with their OEM partners to fulfil their bespoke control gear requirements.
As a UK based manufacturer, Transtar can respond quickly to customer needs and address their special requirements.
"Unlike overseas manufacturers who produce standard products in high volumes we can offer custom designed control gear and manufacture in lower batch quantities.
As the days get shorter and users suddenly discover the need to refurbish their lighting equipment, this flexibility is a major benefit for contractors, maintenance departments and others with responsibility for lighting," Bruce commented.
The Transtar quality of service is made possible by continual investment in advanced equipment such as heavy duty winding machines, which can produce HID windings for ballasts in the 250 to 400W range quickly and consistently.
These machines use wire of 0.85 to 1.6mm and have the flexibility to change output easily, permitting economic small run production.
