High-accuracy LCR meters
The SRS SR715/720 family of LCR meters, now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), quickly and accurately measures passive components with as little as 0.05% error.
Examples of use include running a laptop computer for nine hours or a 19-inch TV for six hours from a 75 Ah battery using the 150W unit.
Available in a range of sizes, the invertors can power a variety of electronic products including televisions, video recorders, fax machines, laptop computers, small power tools and work lights.
The range is available in 150, 300 or 500 W models, offering 300, 600 and 1000 W surge capacity, respectively.
All three units give an output voltage of 230 V +/-5% and an output frequency of 50 Hz +/-3 Hz.
The output is a modified sine wave with 90% peak efficiency.
Input voltage can be between 10 and 15 V DC.
No-load current draw is less than 0.18 A for the 150 W unit, less than 0.2 A for the 300 W unit and less than 0.3 A for the 500 W model.
Battery connection for the 150 W model is via a DC lighter plug and for the 300 W model via a DC lighter plug or cable clamps.
For the 500 W unit, connection is with cable clamps and hardwire.
The 300 and 500 W models have built-in mounting brackets.
Protection features include over-temperature and overload shutdown, low-voltage shutdown at 10 V DC, overvoltage shutdown at 15 V DC and a low voltage alarm at 10.7 V DC.
An LED indicator confirms a faulty connection.
The compact size and weight (63 x 104 x 157 mm and 0.65 kg for the 150 W unit) make the units convenient for use and storage.
Prices start at £45 (plus VAT) for the 150 W unit.
