High-accuracy LCR meters
The SRS SR715/720 family of LCR meters, now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), quickly and accurately measures passive components with as little as 0.05% error.
The Model 1906 is a 5 1/2-digit auto/manual ranging multimeter with a scale length of 210,000 counts, a resolution of 1 microVolt, 1 milliohm and 1 nA, and a basic DC voltage accuracy of 0.012%.
The instrument incorporates a large number of 'smart' functions, including linear scaling with offset (Ax + B), percentage deviation, min/max storage, limits comparison and logarithmic (dB) calculations.
The meter has a built-in data logger that can store up to 100 readings into non-volatile memory.
Readings can be stored at any selected time interval from one per second to one every three hours.
Alternatively, storage can be triggered manually from the front panel or automatically from the RS232 or GPIB interfaces.
A simple 'recall' sequence allows readings to be scrolled onto the display whenever required.
Alternatively, results can be downloaded to a computer or printer using the digital interfaces.
All AC functions are True RMS.
The wide bandwidth AC measurement system can be used for frequencies up to 50 kHz.
The maximum measurable inputs are 1000 V DC, 750 V AC and 10 A DC or AC.
The 1906 offers manual or fully automatic ranging (including current ranges) and all functions, ranges and computing programmes can be controlled via its built-in digital interface.
As standard, the 1906 has an addressable RS-232 interface.
Alternatively, a version with a GPIB interface is available which conforms fully with IEEE-488.2.
The meter is housed in a robust ABS case with tilt stand.
An optional 2U high rack mount kit is available for system applications.
The 1906 is manufactured in the UK and costs £403 (plus VAT).
