Better In 2004
Following the success of last year's Open Day at its UK headquarters in Titchfield, TUV Product Service held its 2004 event on 15 July with an even bigger programme of business and fun events.

Could it have been the promise of a repeat of last year's fiercely fought-out go-karting competition which pulled in the crowds again this year? The 2004 event proved to be equally competitive, with Wing Pang of Nokia the eventual winner, receiving first prize from TUV Product Service managing director Jean-Louis Evans.
Also on hand to entertain visitors this year was caricaturist Soozi, and the barbecue sizzled throughout the afternoon.
A wider programme of business-oriented events included tours of the facilities, a Consultation Booth, providing free one-on-one advice on compliance issues, and a series of seminars presented by experts from TUV Produce Service, the DTI and Ling Dynamic Systems.
Proving popular with guests were seminars on a diversity of topics including the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products in the defence industry, new EU Directives on electrical and electronic waste plus one on shock response.
BABT was also delighted to take advantage of the opportunity to announce the further expansion of its compliance test capacity for the cellular marketplace, reducing time to market for GSM manufacturers.
Now with extensive GSM and EMC testing facilities at Maplewood in Basingstoke, BABT has added substantially to its capacity for performing GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900MHz testing.
