Technology Answers has released its newest version of the Cimskil automatic manufacturing feature recognition (AFR) product.

Technology Answers has released its newest version of the Cimskil Automatic Manufacturing Feature Recognition (AFR) product AFR is marketed as a stand-alone product to enable automation of downstream manufacturing processes, including process planning, quality control, cost estimating, and NC programming

TA claims that its AFR product is the most advanced in the marketplace.

It automatically recognises 2 through 5 axis manufacturing features (including Mil-Turn), has a rich library of feature types and derives and calculates all the feature parameters required by downstream processes.

For example, AFR is used to drive Cimskil's Automated NC programming process.

As TA phrases it: "The common processing unit across different types of parts is the manufacturing feature".

"Acknowledging this enables automation of processes across apparently widely different types of parts".

"The manufacturing feature is the basic unit of production".
