TUV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg Group, with over 7,500 employees active in over 40 countries worldwide, has decided on Ireland as the location for its latest office.

TUV International, a branch office of Birmingham-based TUV International UK, opened on 1st October in central Dublin and is now TUV's most westerly office in Europe.

The expansion westwards is in line with TUV's policy of providing its entire range of global services from local offices with local employees.

This policy is based on 130 years experience, offering technical and quality services to discerning customers.

Initially, increasing number of enquiries from principally the UK created demands for its operation in Birmingham, established in 1999.

This operation ensured that both new and existing customers could access superior services, provided by local employees from a more convenient location.

TUV International's product safety services, based on the company's extensive experience in industry, were demanded by machinery, office and household equipment manufacturers.

Products tested and approved range from chip capacitors, vacuum cleaners, industrial lasers to semi-conductor manufacturing machines and 90t presses.

TUV's global network, allowing easy access for manufacturers to worldwide markets quickly ensured that TUV became a major provider of safety services in the western islands.

After the introduction of its quality and environmental management services, and Pressure equipment services in early 2002, it quickly became apparent for logistical reasons that a second office was required to deal with customers in both the Republic and Northern Ireland.
