Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 15, 2001

A Web site covers the basics of welding and joining processes, including: arc, oxy-fuel, resistance, electron beam, laser and friction welding; brazing; plastics welding and surfacing.

To introduce the basics of welding processes, The Welding Institute (TWI) has set up a new website.

http://www.twi.co.uk/j32k/Menu/232 takes you directly to TWI's information on the basics of welding and joining processes, including: arc, oxy-fuel, resistance, electron beam, laser and friction welding; brazing; adhesive bonding; mechanical fastening; plastics welding; and surfacing.

You can access additional technical information on a broad range of joining-related subjects if you register.

Registration is free of charge and available immediately after completing a simple, on-screen form.

Based at Abington near Cambridge since 1946, TWI is an independent research and technology organisation which provides industry with technical support in welding and joining through information and consultancy services, contract R and D and training and qualification.
