Pre-registration figures for its Free programmes of Mtec and Industrial Networks workshops and seminars are up by 30% and 35% respectively when compared with the same period in 2005.
Trident Exhibitions has announced that visitor pre-registration figures for its free programmes of Mtec and Industrial Networks workshops and seminars are up by 30% and 35% respectively when compared with the same period in 2005 Mtec, which is held in Hall 11 of the NEC on 15th and 16th February benefits from two days of free workshops and seminars held by the British Society for Strain Measurement (BSSM) and the Sensors Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN)

On day 1 of the event (Wednesday) the BSSM will hold a series of seminars entitled Industrial Applications of Strain and Deformation Measurement including presentations made on 'Industrial Applications of Strain Gauges', 'High Temperature Strain Measurement', 'The Pocket PC - an Instrumentation Revolution', 'Optical methods for full field shape measurement', and 'The Video Gauge: A new approach to meeting the measurement needs of engineers and scientists'.
On day 2 (Thursday) The Sensors KTN will cover a programme of sensor related workshops including presentations and debates about opportunities for optical sensing of industrial chemicals, an introduction to the activities of the Sensors KTN and presentations on new sensor technologies for condition monitoring run by Comonet.
In turn Industrial Networks benefits from two days of workshops held by the Profibus Group, the ASi Expert Alliance and the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA).
Day 1 is shared by the Profibus Group and the ASi.
The Profibus Group will hold seminars in the morning with titles including 'Profibus for Process Automationand', 'Techniques for fault-finding and maintenance of plant equipment over Profibus'; and 'Extending Profibus - explaining how various media such as wireless, fibre or modems can be used to extend the Range of Profibus'.
In the afternoon The ASi will present workshops with titles including 'Introduction to the technology, including the new V3 spec, and 'Hands on the Yellow Cable', 'AS-I SW for cost effective connection of panel switches and indicators', 'The Real World Benefits of using AS-i in Modern Production Lines'; and 'Deploying AS-i in functional Safety Systems in Industry'.
