The new Raychem QFT, from Tyco Electronics, offers an innovative heat-shrinkable method of cable management for the forming, sealing and protecting of cable transitions and breakouts This low cost, commercial grade component can be configured to meet all popular requirements and eliminates the need to call off specific fixed geometries

The rugged Raychem QFT kit comprises a high shrink ratio molded sleeve, lined with hot melt adhesive, together with division clips, which are simply crimped into place, to configure the required geometry.

When shrunk down to create the transition or breakout, QFT has a low profile and simultaneously applies effective electrical insulation, mechanical protection and a permanent seal against moisture or chemical ingress.

It is easy to prepare, quick to install with a shrink temperature of just 60degC and has an operating temperature range of -20degC to +70degC.

The special crimps allow it to be employed for 1:2, 1:3 and even 1:4 transitions and, because it has a high shrink ratio, almost any common transition requirement can be met from just three product sizes.

QFT configurable transitions are ideal for a wide variety of applications, from commercial vehicle manufacturing through to the IT network cabling in buildings.
