LCD Touchmonitor and TouchComputer

Elo TouchSystems has expanded its family of touchcomputers and touchmonitors with the same look and feel by adding two new members.

Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, has today expanded its family of touchcomputers and touchmonitors with the same look and feel by adding two new members The new 1529L 15in LCD touchmonitor joins the award-winning 1229L and is a multifunction touchmonitor that includes options for an integrated three-track magnetic stripe reader (MSR), biometric fingerprint recognition device, and the first consumer touchable 12.1in rear-facing customer display

Extending the 1529L touchmonitor even more, the silent, fanless 1529L touchcomputer joins the recently announced 1525L as an all-in-one touchcomputer that integrates computing functionality within the footprint of a standard 15in LCD display.

Both the 1529L touchcomputer and 1529L touchmonitor are available with a choice of Elo's IntelliTouch surface wave or AccuTouch five-wire resistive touch technologies with spill-proof sealing.

The 1529L touchmonitor also has the option of Elo's CarrollTouch infrared touch technology.

Typical applications for the 1529L series include point-of-sale, point-of-service, loyalty systems, kiosk information systems, light industrial shop-floor automation, home control, and Internet access points.

Extending an Award-Winning Design According to Mike Sigona, Elo marketing manager, "the 1529L multifunction touchmonitor was designed for touch from the ground up".

"It is available with a variety of optional rear-facing displays, either a 2 x 20 vacuum fluorescent device or a unique 12.1in LCD with or without touch functionality".

"Because connectivity is incorporated within the monitor, we have reduced the number of power bricks and eliminated cable confusion".

Sigona adds, "Both the 1529L touchmonitor and touchcomputer form part of Elo's continued investment in its vision to provide top quality, high profile products that have the same look and feel and are flexible enough to meet a wide variety of application needs".

Wide Range of Connectivity and Operating Systems Extending the 1529L touchmonitor with built-in computing functionality, the new 1529L touchcomputer offers a wide range of connectivity and operating systems - all in the same footprint.

Connectivity for the 1529L touchcomputer includes two serial, four USB, Ethernet, PCMCIA and PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.

Operating systems include Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE .NET or Windows 2000.

The 1529L all-in-one touchcomputer is available as a solid-state embedded system or with an integrated 30 GB or greater hard drive and 1 GHz processor.

Both the 1529L touchcomputer and touchmonitor can function as a desktop or wall-mountable unit.

"The new 1529L all-in-one touchcomputer provides a truly economical solution," says Frank Lung, Elo product manager.

"Its design and development continues Elo's commitment to a reliable, retail-rugged, and easy to integrate touch solution that fits in with any systems integrator, OEM and/or Value-Added Reseller's requirements". Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics ...
