Identifying parts under hazardous conditions
Tyco Electronics focuses on identification solutions for harsh industrial environments, and has produced a brochure to outline its Critchley, idento and Raychem brand product ranges.
OEMs can produce their own labels in-house
A card system provides OEMs with the opportunity to customise and produce their own identification, information and instruction labels and signs.
This polyvinyl fluoride material is self-extinguishing, difficult to ignite and offers resistance to water, oil, cleaning agents and oil-based solvents.
It has a broad continuous operating temperature range -40degC to +130degC, exhibits a high degree of resistance to ageing and filters ultra violet light.
The product also has exceptional tear resistance and tensile strength, critical for permanent identification needs.
Additional UV protection and mark permanence can be applied by use of Tyco '130' clear 1mm overlaminate.
The tape format is ideal for colour coding and binding open wire bundles and in harness separation, whilst the printable label format is suitable for applying durable identification and information data to curved and flat surfaces as well as wire bundles.
For the preparation of printed labels, Tyco offers well proven hardware together with its proprietary, easy to use, powerful WinTotal software that enables identification data input to be made either manually or downloaded from design databases to single or multiple printers.
The new film tape is supplied 12.7mm wide in 30.5 metre rolls and the labels are available either continuous on rolls or diecut in a choice of sizes and in all standard resistor colour codes.
