TAU Version 2.7 Extends Telelogic's MDA Leadership
Systems Engineers and Application Developers Benefit from TAU's Improved Architecture Validation, Requirements Traceability, and Usability.
Complete with many ease-of-use enhancements, an improved Design for Testability (DFT) environment and numerous performance features, SDL Suite 5.0 and TTCN Suite 5.0 combine to make protocol stack software development and testing a faster, more intuitive and productive process.
Based on feedback from Telelogic's customer base of expert protocol stack developers this latest release provides high impact usability enhancements to the SDL and TTCN 5.0 Suites.
These include an organizer log that filters system feedback according to user preferences, an expanded search and replace capability, support for external editors when modifying test tables, a flexible print feature for added control of generated documents and a new log command which allows storing of testing data and input commands in a user-accessible file.

Extending automation reach and functionality
An enhancement to a distributed control system gives manufacturing personnel access to customised information according to their job function.
Streamlining performance is a primary driver for the new SDL Suite 5.0 and TTCN Suite 5.0, resulting in optimized workflows in the environments and faster execution speeds for developed applications.
Enhancements include improved timer support in the C code generator and new compiler and linker options that make these operations faster.
Optimizations have been added to further reduce the size of the generated application, resulting in greater flexibility and reduced product costs.
New Message Sequence Chart diagrams fully support the tools' ability to compare and merge diagrams, enhancing collaborative development across teams and organizations.
Additionally, collaboration has been further strengthened with a robust, native integration with Telelogic's award winning configuration management solution, SYNERGY/CM.
SDL Suite 5.0 and TTCN Suite 5.0 offer upgraded co-simulation capabilities for parallel design and test of protocol stack software, known as Design for Testability (DFT).
DFT allows for verification, validation, and testing of systems and applications to occur in a symbiotic fashion throughout the development process.
Protocols stacks under development in SDL Suite 5.0 can be continuously executed and tested in TTCN Suite 5.0 at the push of a button.
This feature ensures a truly iterative development workflow, where protocol stack development can proceed from a high-level system implementation to a fully articulated software application with the confidence of correct design and execution at each step of the process.
The end result is higher quality products developed in shorter timeframes.
Development efficiency has been further improved through the implementation of new co-simulation modes including batch-mode and command line start-up mode, allowing users to schedule program-driven test execution during off hours.
"Version 5.0 of these environments not only provides several significant product improvements," says Neeraj Chandra, Telelogic Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development, " it also underscores Telelogic's commitment to the continued development, enhancement, and support of these market leading products and their underlying technologies for protocol stack development within the telecommunications industry, and other markets.".
