Roll form design software creates 3D
models
Roll form software produces a 3D CAD model directly in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, whether with one pass or all passes, and in the 3D drawing of the machines.
When new roll form tools have been designed by using the roll form software UBECO PROFIL, the 3D CAD model can be created in SolidWorks and AutoCAD directly The rolls of a single pass or of all passes of the machine can be transferred, also the deformed sheet within the machine as desired

FEA verification of rollform tooling performed
Simulation software enables a roll-pass designer to verify the designed roll tool set for rollformed profiles and tubes by using the Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
In this way, the roll tools are installed in the prepared 3D drawing of the roll form machine or tube forming line.
To transfer the drawing the modern ActiveX interface of SolidWorks and AutoCAD is used.
This means, explained UBECO to manufacturingtalk, the drawing is created directly in the CAD document that currently is open, no file transfer is necessary.
Since PROFIL is an independent Windows program, this works in any CAD version without special CAD drivers or software that has to be installed in the CAD system.
2D drawings of the flower pattern and roll tools and 3D drawings of the deformed sheet within the machine can be transferred to any CAD system by using the ActiveX interface or the file formats DXF, IGES or MI.
