Bi-Mu show covers latest machine tools
This year's Italian machine tool and production equipment show - the Bi-Mu - will take place in Milan's new exhibition centre located on the outskirts of the city.
"The collaboration with ICE and PROMOS has been excellent." About 300 Italian manufacturers of machine tools, robots and automation have come back yesterday from Hanover, Germany, where they took part in the 2005 edition of EMO, the most important exhibition of the sector, a date that cannot be missed by the operators of the manufacturing industry from all over the world.
As in the tradition, even in this edition, the Italian manufacturers, exhibiting on a net surface of 22,000m2, have confirmed themselves as the most numerous foreign representative among those present at EMO.
"In the presence classification," commented Tacchella, "We are second only to the German 'house masters', far ahead from our foreign competitors (the Swiss, at the third position in the number of attendances, count 130 enterprises)." Tacchella said: "This confirms the vivacity of the Italian offer and the importance that this event, unique in its international character, has for us, the Italian manufacturers who are strongly foreign market oriented".

"In fact, as it is also attested by the final balance figures of 2004, about the half of the national production of the sector has always been destined to serve the foreign demand".
"This is a witnessing of the appreciation met by the Made by Italians internationally," stressed Tacchella".
"" In 2004, after two consecutive years of fall, the production of machine tools, robots and automation is growing again, registering a +2.5% and reaching euro 4,130 million, pushed by the positive performances of exports increased by 12.2%." Tacchella continued: "The foreign trade data concerning the first five months of 2005 are attesting, amongst other things, the positive trend of exports of Italian machine tools, experiencing a growth of 14.7% versus the first five months of 2004".
"In particular, the highest increases have been registered in the sales in Germany (+15.1%), United States (+47.9%), Spain (+3.6%) and France (+14.1%); among the developing countries Turkey (+68.8%), Russia (+39%) and India (+186.1%)." "These figures," concluded Tacchella, "But especially the positive results achieved at EMO 2005 (over 160,000 visitors from 82 countries all over the world), where we, the manufactures, have gathered numerous and profitable contacts, let us hope for the best with regard to the actual recovery in the consumption of inconsumable goods, a recovery we expect to be confirmed in the next months in Europe, too." To support the Italian enterprises present at EMO 2005, UCIMU-Sistemi per Produrre has carried out many initiatives with the collaboration of ICE, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade and with PROMOS, a special agency of the Milan Chamber of Commerce for international activities, with the purpose of promoting the entire sector.
Tacchella pointed out: "We are really pleased with the collaboration with ICE and with PROMOS.
Together with ICE we have organised a series of initiatives, among which the 'Italian Evening' that had a considerable success of public (over 200 participants among foreign end-users, machine tool agents, local authorities and journalists of the most important international newspapers and magazines)".
"With PROMOS we realised the CD-ROM of Italian enterprises exhibiting at EMO 2005".
"These are important collaborations," said Tacchella".
""UCIMU-Sistemi per Produrre has always believed in these collaborations that are very important to make the promotion activity of the 'Made by Italians' of the sector more and more effective and structured abroad.".
