BI-MU Mediterranea is addressed to machine tools, robots and automation manufacturers, interested in taking the extraordinary opportunities offered by the market having its natural centre in Bari.

After acquiring the prestigious qualification of "International Exhibition" thanks to the growing success met with exhibitors and visitors, BI-MU Mediterranea will launch its sixth edition in the Fiera Del Levante fairground of Bari, from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 February 2008 Established as the showcase of technologies targeted for the production development of the mid-southern Italian regions, of Balkan countries, of South-Eastern Europe and Northern Africa, the show is addressed to machine tools, robots and automation manufacturers, interested in taking the extraordinary opportunities offered by the market having its natural centre in Bari

At the exhibitors' disposal, there is an area perfectly suitable for the presentation of the sector offer and the organisational competence of ENTE AUTONOMO Fiera Del Levante availing itself of the collaboration of the specialised structures of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian Association of the sector Manufacturers.

The fifth edition of BI-MU Mediterranea, which took place in February 2006, achieved a considerable attendance success, registering the visits of 9,000 operators (+7.5% versus 2004), interested in the offer presented by 300 enterprises, on a total net exhibition surface of 8,000 sq m.

Besides the massive Italian participation (70% of the total), the trade show recorded the attendance of a considerable number of manufacturers from Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Great Britain, United States and Switzerland.

The international character of the event was emphasized by the participation of exhibitors coming from Belgium, Belorussia, South-Korea, Finland, France, Israel, Principality of Monaco, Holland, Czech Republic, Republic of San Marino, Russia, Sweden and Venezuela.

Among the most innovative proposals presented during the fifth edition of BI-MU Mediterranea, special systems were displayed, based on functional modularity, easily and quickly adaptable to production changes, enabling the user industry to be equipped with agile structures, characterized by flexibility and capacity of reconfiguration.

Aimed at encouraging the contact between demand and offer of innovation, the 2006 edition of BI-MU Mediterranea was chosen by ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) to organize, in co-operation with UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and Fiera Del Levante, a cycle of meetings between Italian exhibitors and some thirty trade operators from Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Morocco, Slovenia, Tunisia and Turkey, i.e some of the most industrialized countries, to which the technological showcase presented by the exhibition event is addressed.

Great interest was aroused by the conference programme, enriching the exhibition with contents and drawing, over the years, the attention of operators from enterprises, such as Alcatel, Alenia Aerospazio, Alfa Romeo Avio, Ansaldo, Bosch Braking Systems, Ceccato, Electrolux Zanussi, Enichem, Fiat Avio, Iveco, Fiat-Hitachi, Getrag, Honeywell Garrett, Ilva Laminati Piani, Isotta Fraschini Motori, Italsider, Magneti Marelli, Moneta Pentole, Natuzzi, Nestle Purina, Nsk-Rhp, Nuovo Pignone, Osram Sud, Orsogril, Piaggio Aero Industries, Polimeri Europa, Selenia, Shell, Siemens Stock, Tenaris Dalmine, West Wind Energy Systems, Yamaha.

A significant interest was shown also by scientific and research institutes: among the others, ENEA, ITIA CNR, Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics, Universities of Ancona, Bari, Lecce and Palermo.
