Ucamco launches Geometric Correction System

An Ucamco product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jun 26, 2009

Ucamco, formerly Barco ETS, has announced the release of the Geometric Correction System (GCS) for its laser photo plotters.

This software solution allows the customer to produce distortion-free panels.

Today's PCB design roadmap calls for higher densities and finer features.

As registration tolerances become tighter, non-linear process distortions become increasingly critical, according to the company.

Existing tools that only compensate for linear distortions are no longer sufficient.

Ucamco's GCS provides a straightforward solution for both non-linear and linear process distortions.

It allows users to eliminate reproducible distortions in any production step.

The GCS automatically modifies photo tools to compensate for the non-linear and linear distortions introduced into a panel during the manufacturing process.

By improving layer registration, the GCS delivers increased factory yields and extends the plant capabilities into higher levels of PCB technology.
