Two valve suppliers jointly supply customised valves for special applications with lead times measured in days rather than the normally expected many weeks.

UFB (Process Control Solutions) of Aberdeen in partnership with Adanac Valve Specialities of Suffolk can supply customised valves for special applications with lead times measured in days rather than the normally expected many weeks The direct supply of standard or modified equipment and the conversion or modification of clients own free issued material can be arranged and executed with the minimum of delay or disruption to the client

UFB will take details of specific requirements, source a suitable valve and arrange all necessary modifications in order to supply a unique piece of equipment.

This is a service which many volume manufacturers are unable to provide for "one off" situations due to production constraints.

The main scope of work, which can be undertaken, includes: a.

Adaptation or supply of Cryogenic valves of all types b.

Fabrication and fitting of heating jackets to all types of carbon and stainless steel valves and related equipment such as strainers and flow meters.

c.

Fabrication and fitting of double gland type stem extensions for hazardous emission control and monitoring.

d.

Preparation and testing ( in-house ) of valves for specified low temperature cryogenic service, typically to Shell and BS 6364 requirements.

e.

Trim changing including hard facing and alloy overlays of seat areas to gate, globe and check valves also special stem and seat materials for ball valves.

f.

Fitting outside lever and weights to check valves.

g.

Welding pipe pups, flanges and dairy fittings to valves.

h.

Conversion of valve ends to alternative type.

( ie machining flanged ends to butt weld and raised face flanges to RTJ ) i.

Fabrication of pressure vessels, air receivers etc j.

Screw down non-return conversion of globe valves.

k.

Fabrication/fitting of extension stems and floorstands for remote or buried service, also lagging extensions.

l.

Conversion of 1/4 turn pneumatic actuators to adjustable end-stops.

m.

Preparation for and application of special paint finishes.

n.

Preparation of valves for electroless nickel plating, organising same and rebuilding.

o.

Actuation of all types of valves including mounting kit fabrication.

p.

Spring return levers for ball valves.

q.

Fitting of complex interlock devices and key exchange systems.

r.

Fabrication and fitting of simple locking devices and position indicators.

s.

Fabrication of valve manifolds and linkages.

t.

Cleaning and testing of materials for Oxygen and other gaseous service.

u.

Cleaning and passivation of material for Hydrogen peroxide service.

v.

Fitting of resilient inserts to closing members of gate, globe and check valves for tight shut off application.

w.

Packing and gasket material changes.

( Adanac are a Garlock approved installer ).

x.

Extended duration pressure testing both hydrostatic and high pressure gas ( nitrogen and/or Helium ).

Many of these activities involve welding and Adanac's welders and weld procedures are maintained in accordance with ASME IX through Lloyds and The Welding Institute.
