Custum packaging clean room enlarged
UFP Technologies, a manufacturer of custom engineered packaging materials and component products, has announced the expansion of its cleanroom facilities at its corporate headquarters.
Because the containers are re-usable, the need for disposable packaging, such as kraft corrugated boxes, is eliminated, resulting in significant cost savings.
The containers can be collapsible and customised to suit a specific distribution environment to reduce freight costs for returned containers.
Developed from corrugated plastic, the containers are weather resistant, waterproof, lightweight and re-usable.
UFP said that the containers are less expensive than metal or injection-molded trays, and they are constructed to withstand harsh conditions and can be easily cleaned of dirt or grease.
Depending on the distribution environment, a reusable corrugated plastic container will outlast kraft corrugated boxes by several years.
Extra options to increase the weight-bearing capabilities of the container are available, including a metal bar sonically welded to the edges, and plastic rivets to snap the box together.
Permanent or removable custom foam dunnage interiors are also provided when product positioning or surface protection is desired, added the company.
