Unicut Precision has appointed Michael Lloyd as sales manager for the UK to expand its precision small mill/turned parts sub contract machining operation.

Unicut Precision of Welwyn Garden City has appointed Michael Lloyd as sales manager for the UK to expand its precision small mill/turned parts sub contract machining operation Said joint managing director Jason Nicholson: "Michael brings some 30 years experience in the manufacture of components to Unicut which will help us develop our customer support strategy." Unicut Precision has grown some 16 per cent this year following continued investment in the latest CNC sliding head auto technology

Altogether, 11 of the latest Citizen and two Star machines are installed to provide 'one-hit' mill/turned component production up to 32 mm diameter.

Components are produced on a three-shift basis over seven days a week for a customer base that spans medical, automotive, brewing, fastening and telecoms sectors.

Unicut was recently voted Finalist in the Customer Focus category of the I Mech E's Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2003, a position it won from more than 300 of the UK's leading engineering companies and winner of Best Subcontractor - Machining, in the International Subcontracting Industry Awards 2002.
