again

Such has been the upsurge in the fortunes of Unicut Precision that July and August have set record sales and profit levels for its precision sub-con tract machining business.
Big order led to new machine purchases
Following the winning of a 12 month contract for three million components from an American fastener company, Unicut Precision immediately ordered two CNC sliding head automatic lathes.
Maintains Jason Nicholson, joint managing director: "Our investment through 2004 in computer management systems, training and building teams to specialise in different production scenarios such as long production runs, complex high value work requiring special skills and normal batch work has paid off".
"This has meant that we have been able to adapt to the growing order book and maintain quality and delivery promises." One of Unicut's US customers with a schedule call-off of fasteners and a predicted order book for this year of around 500, 000 (pounds sterling) has already placed 230,000 (pounds sterling) worth of business with the Welwyn company causing Unicut to use its 0.5 tonne of special order stainless steel in four weeks rather than the normal four months.
Charles Kenny, joint managing director confirms another American order for a two-piece fastener assembly in stainless steel: "Our normal monthly production is around 5,000 to 7,000 of each part".

"According to what we have heard, this is not so common amongst home suppliers." Unicut Precision has one Miyano BNJ-42S compact turning centre, four Citizen M32, three Citizen L32, three Citizen L20, two Citizen C16 and two Star SA16 CNC sliding head autos all under five years old.
Most are running around the clock depending on the setting frequency and complexity of jobs and are very often unmanned between shifts and over weekends.
