Unicut builds clean room and sub-assembly line

An Unicut Precision product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 3, 2009

Unicut Precision has established a clean-room area as part of the expansion of its production facilities at Welwyn Garden City.

The site now also features sub-assembly facilities to complement machining capability involving high-precision components.

The clean room, which is lit by 1000 lux lighting, is adjacent to the quality and inspection centre, which incorporates non-contact 3D video-inspection technology to provide fast and accurate measuring information and can automatically compile SPC data.

As part of a new quality strategy, any components passing into the clean room are processed through a closed-loop, high performance Durr Minio 85C programmable component wash that incorporates vapour degreasing, vacuum drying and ultrasonics in the cycles available.

Unicut is now producing components for the medical, defence, automotive and hydraulic sectors.
