UKFast has announced the winners of its annual Internet Awards.

The UK's Best Hosting Provider, UKFast has announced the winners of its annual Internet Awards Supermarket chain Sainsbury's and Final Fantasy creators Square Enix are among the big winners

The awards celebrate the best Internet content on the UKFast Network, which hosts businesses from all over the world.

Square Enix, the makers of Final Fantasy, won the best web design award for appealing so successfully to their target market, while Sainsbury's satellite site (sainsburyscontactlenses) beat off stiff competition to be crowned Best E-commerce Website.

Web development executive Rob Halliday-Stein is in charge of the contact lenses site.

"This is one of many highly successful sites for Sainsbury's and I think the award proves that high street giants have taken their place online".

"2007 looks like being a very interesting year".

The Welsh are well represented by VRM Swansea, taking the award for Best Web Functionality for website plates4less.

And in the Community Site category, regional agency North West Jazz Works convinced the judges with its resource for lovers of the niche music.

The big award for 2006, the Internet Innovator was very hotly contested.

Eazyfone was the eventual winner for the pan European project (envirofone).

Pete Petrondas, chief executive of Eazyfone Group said.

"We've had a fantastic year and to receive an award after launching envirofone just under a year ago is a great testament to our team".

UKFast's managing director Lawrence Jones enjoys generating competition across his network.

"Incentives to stay on top of your game are crucial".

"Our aim is to grow the UKFast network with the UK's most successful businesses and looking at the winners, we've done astonishingly well so far".
